Buttercream Bakeshop opened in 2008 by original owner Kathleen Nevin under the name Big Fat Cupcake. It has been a Denver favorite sweet spot winning several "Best Of" awards for the overly beautiful and delicious gourmet cupcakes. In November of 2015 it was bought by the long time shop baker/decorator, Sarah, and her parents Stephanie & Richard.  We are proud of our friendly, talented, and exceptional staff!

Owner/Baker/Decorator
Sarah has always had a passion for everything pastry. She graduated from culinary school in 2005 and immediately began a professional pastry career working as a baker and pastry chef and freelance cake decorator while living in Germany. She has worked at Buttercream Bakeshop since 2014. She also loves hiking, traveling, antiques, food, and STILL enjoys baking at home!
